FASHION

Later on today, i used my fashion design pieces to create a garment. Focusing on a state of emotion and an area of the body, a partner and i went around in rotation to use the other students work to create garments also. This task was interesting as i had to use my sper of the moment creativity to design a garment that fit the specific criteria. I feel that the work that i achieved managed to resonate a sophisticated simplicity that i would say is more my style of design. Quite a few of the students thought that my work was 'very well constructed' and thought that i would naturally suit the fashion pathway due to my instinctive skills. This feedback allowed for improvement as i became more elaborate with my designs.  From this task i learnt how to design spontaneously and trust my design instincts.

I thought that my pieces of work were edgy and consistent. This is because it formed sharpness and silhouettes sustained throughout all garments. I found having to work with other peoples designs slightly challenging because i am best able to design pieces when i have an initial thought process for it. Nevertheless this bettered the way in which i work with other's various design styles.

My planning skills can be improved by the following design research prep and also producing a wider range of work at the beginning so that i have more to experiment and work with later on. This will improve the body of work i have and also give me more experimental choice so that my final piece is most effective.

I was surprised by the various styles that were designed during this task and i was surprised by the new garment concepts that i could then appreciate. I can definitely use these skills for the next day by getting stuck into my work and being experimental.
