The task today after bringing in 10 object from the past and the present was to select to draw and form a compilation that i made on an A3 sheet. I chose to do a range of shaped objects for variation. Whilst doing this, i changed the size of a couple of them to really exaggerate dimension. The briefcase i had made smaller as it was quite a large object. Looking back at the drawing i probably should have made it to scale as i would had gotten a better contrast with the objects. The briefcase was drawn using a range of cross hatching with pencil and black pen and also various line drawing to exaggerate the angles of the briefcase. The image would have been more successful however, if i included a shadow at the bottom of the briefcase and also used charcoal to emphasise the texture of the case. Next to the briefcase was a pair of shoes that was part of a birthday cake that i had made previously. The shoe was not a successful piece in terms of the accuracy of the image. This was to scale however the detailing of the shoe could have been improved. The curvature of the heel and the strap could have been accentuated with tonal shading and a style of embroidery. Nevertheless the colours of the entire piece worked well for me as my intentions were to create a mainly lined grey scale drawing with hints of colour, either bold or subtle. This was mainly exhibited on the box on the right as it included the pattern in the center corner and then was outlined with black. This was then completed with a miniature version of the fashion dummy that almost looked like a music box ballerina on top of my box. This was completed with tonal shading.
