MANIFESTO draft poster

This task was very interesting as the idea of a manifesto is to basically put forth in writing of some sort of form of ideals/goals or personal things to live by which essential conveys one of the most important part of you. For me from the start of the project I wanted to make it personalised to me. This being said, I chose to do it based upon my 'ethos to life'. I didn't want it to necessarily be specific in detail but I wanted it to breathe a sense of stature and prominence, quite like a quote you would hear in Washington D.C written in stone near a statue. "To be one who enlightens and builds a platform for success. To study ones self from a rich mental construct and build focus and purpose. Brew in creation and embrace my own divinity... My business is to create". This was also inspired by William Blake "my business is to create". This is one of the quotes that I also live by and so this project did inspire a personal attachment with me. I wanted the form of this manifesto to be presented almost as an official letter and so this is what I tried convey in the image above; a certificate of purpose. This project for me was based upon "who Am I" and so creating a female icon that represented me positioned in an area of the world that showed where I want to travel to... well at least once in life.

The areas that I was questioned on was the date stamp across the centre of the page. It was suggested to me that I changed this specific to me, and so maybe use my date of birth. It was also suggested that I create my own stamp that had a layered impression of the british crest as this is where I was born. Finally it was suggested that in terms of a larger 'movement' or 'campaign' I should do an interchangeable icon for guys as well as women so this manifesto could be adapted to each person as a campaign contract of personal life achievements. Overall I enjoyed this project. It allowed to me to take into consideration larger project possibilities and from this I will most definitely learn for future projects to do so.
